Ralph Cooksey-Talbott Thomas has been working as a photographer since 72 when he moved to California from Michigan. During the 1970’s he studied under Ansel Adams in Yosemite. Ansel published one of his photos in The Polaroid Land Photography book.
In the mid 70's I had the good fortune of coming in contact with the Ansel Adams workshops given by the Friends of Photography. It was a marvelous learning experience that reinforced the overwelming importance of everything...
I found this shot wandering in the Tuolumne high country.
Initially this was shot on Polaroid type 52 with a Graphic View II 4x5 camera. This scan is from some Super-XX film that was shot after the Polaroids.
I liked it and gave one to Ansel who added it to the portfolio section of his new Polaroid book. The image in the book was made from the Polaroid Type 52.
