Afternoons in the spring are amazing in the east bay hills. The grass is green and lush and the trees are just beginning to develop buds.
Because there are no leaves on the trees you get these luminesent hillside forests of oaks that follow the watershed. Were there is a small stream the trees grow as a grove rather then their usual solitary hillside placement.
My daughter discovered this ravine while we were walking one day...
