When you walk around the llop trail through the Allen Memorial Grove you have a couple fairly confined viewpoints on the Pinnacle Cove area.
What a place! The trees are covered with a dense red lichen, not pictured, that gives the path a otherworldly ambience. Most groves on points are pretty twisted places from the constant wind and fog and this Cypress grove is no exception.
From this viewpoint you hang over a sheer slope that crashes right into the cove where sea lions float around and feed on fish from the kelp beds.
