This is a group of images made with a 10.5
mp Nikon D-200. A number of the images are composites of multiple
frames creating larger images with greater resolution.
We decided to get out of town in the end of
April and our friend nicely offered us her vacation property
in Petrolia on the Lost Coast.
We found it was called that for a good reason.
The area is connected by a small two lane road that twists
up through the Humboldt State Park redwoods to emerge at the
top of the ridge to overlook the coast.
The area is is a beautiful group of valleys
descending from the coastal hills to the sea. Each with its
own sheltered micro-climate. The foliage was lush and the
wildflowers abundant.
Here are some of the images that I captured
during my travels...
I hope you enjoy them!
